Team-Based Strategy & Design Competitions

Collaborative Strategy: Challenges students to develop creative, data-informed digital marketing strategies in a team environment.​

Realistic Scenarios: Allows teams to apply strategic thinking and design skills to realistic marketing scenarios for recognized brands like Scheels.

Time-Sensitive Execution: Often requires rapid turnaround, such as the Rice Lake Weighing challenge which gives teams only one hour to submit materials.

Industry Presentation: Top teams may be selected to present their slide decks and solutions in person to gain professional presentation experience.

Digital Marketing Strategy 
Company:
Gray Media

Format: Teams of two

Challenge: Create a data-informed digital marketing slide deck in response to a prompt.

Deadline: Prompt released the Wednesday prior to the competition.

Outcome: Top finalists selected to present strategies in person to Gray professional  

Digital Ad Design
Company: Scheels

Format: Teams of two.

Challenge: Developing a visually engaging social media advertisement for a national retail brand, including high-quality visuals and accompanying copy.

Deadline: Prompt released at 12:45 PM on February 6th; all materials must be submitted by 2:30 PM.

Digital Design
Company: Rice Lake Weighing 

Format: Teams of up to four.

Challenge: Creating a visually compelling digital design solution based on a real-world client prompt.

Deadline: Prompt released on February 6th; teams have exactly 1 hour to submit materials.

Focus: Emphasis on clarity, creativity, and professional execution while working in a client-focused environment.

Individual Performance Competitions

Personal Development: Designed to help students refine their personal pitch in a professional setting.

Real-World Practice: Provides valuable interview-style practice and helps students strengthen their personal brand.

 

Direct Feedback: Participants engage directly with industry representatives from companies like Cintas and Enterprise Mobility to receive constructive feedback on their confidence and communication.

 

Career Readiness: Focuses on overall career readiness and preparing students for future networking and recruiting situations.

Perfect Pitch
Company: Enterprise Mobility 

Format: Individual.

Objective: Develop and refine a personal pitch to confidently present skills, experiences, and career goals to industry professionals.

Focus: Evaluated on clarity, professionalism, and overall delivery while receiving direct feedback from Enterprise representatives.

Mock Interview
Company: Cintas

Format: Individual.

Objective: Engaging in a professional mock interview with industry representatives to prepare for real-world hiring experiences.

Focus: Direct feedback from Cintas professionals to refine communication skills, confidence, and career readiness.

Sales Competition
Company: General

Format: Individual.

Status: Official details to be sent to members once they have signed up.
